The University of Prince Edward Island continued its tradition of hosting the community to a New Year's Day Levee at Don and Marion McDougall Hall.

UPEI Alumni Association President Alicia Bremner, Vice-Chair of the Board of Governors Tracey Cutcliffe, President and Vice-Chancellor Alaa Abd-El-Aziz, and Valerie Abd-El-Aziz greeted upwards of 400 guests.

Alumni Recruitment Network


UPEI relies upon the support of dedicated and enthusiastic alumni volunteers. The Alumni Recruitment Network (ARN) is a network of alumni volunteers, that supports the efforts and initiatives of the UPEI Recruitment Team.

As part of the ARN, you will have the chance to increase the visibility of UPEI in your hometown or home province while playing a vital role in local students' university search processes.

UPEI math alumna invested into Order of Ontario

UPEI alumna Monica Elaine Campbell, Class of ’78, was recently invested into the Order of Ontario by the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario and Chancellor of the Order of Ontario.

Campbell, who lives in Ottawa, grew up on PEI and moved to Ontario after graduating with her Bachelor of Science, Honours in Mathematics (Minor in Biology). It is believed that Campbell was the first profoundly Deaf student to graduate from UPEI, a remarkable feat at a time when technological supports were limited.

UPEI puts math, stats, and computer science to work


The University of Prince Edward Island recently announced the launch of the UPEI School of Mathematical and Computational Sciences. The new School, and its related suite of majors, offers the region’s most comprehensive undergraduate programming in mathematics, computer science, and statistics.

Halifax Alumni and Friends to Celebrate Basketball Championship


Halifax will play host to the AUS Men's and Women's Basketball Championship from March 4th to the 6th. Details for a pre- or post-game event are currently being finalized, so please save the date for this very exciting weekend.

If you are going to be in Halifax during this time, let the Alumni Office know and they will keep you up-to-date on all the latest news.

Call for nominations


The UPEI Alumni Association is now accepting nominations for their Distinguished Alumni Awards. These awards are presented to graduates for their outstanding contribution to knowledge, the arts, the community, the university, or humanity. The Inspiring Young Alumni Award is presented to a graduate, under the age of 40, who has shown outstanding determination in achieving success at a young age.

Deadline for submissions is May 30, 2016 and nomination forms are available here. For more information contact Anthony Gill at alumni@upei.ca or (902) 566-0761.
