THE END OF THE CRUISE
CRUISIN' TOGETHER Reaches it's Finale…for Now
Tom Cruise has made, to date, 39 movies, and I have seen them all. This, because back in May 2014, I thought "Cruisin' Together" was a great name for a silly podcast.
The first episode of CRUISIN' TOGETHER launched on 12/30/14, and from that point on, my co-host, Chris Giarrusso, and I watched every Tom Cruise movie and invited our friends (and in my case, family members) to talk about them (or not, as was more often the case) into microphones, recorded for the world to hear.
This month, we release the episode covering MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - ROGUE NATION, the last movie on the list (for now). It's the end of the cruise. It's been one of the silliest, dumbest things I've done as a professional person - totally off-the-cuff conversations ideally meant to be funny and entertaining - and I love it.
If you've never listened, and you're at all curious, do check it out. Pick a movie you recognize and see what nonsense comes of it. Every episode's available, for free, here or via iTunes.
We are recording TWO more episodes to follow this "last" one. These "Special Version Episodes" will look back, at the movies, and the experience of recording the show over the past year and change.
And on 2/20, I'm releasing a CRUISIN' TOGETHER SURVEY which I hope - if you've listened to one or every episode by that point - you'll take the time to fill-out.
Thanks to everyone who's listened (or is going to listen)!
And of course thanks to Traci, Mike, Carly, Dave, Jacob, Smitty, Jason H., Drew M. Jared, Patrick M., Randy, Sarah, Patrick R., Rob, Joey, Erica, John, Jen, Marty, Chris M., Val M. (and ACP), Stephen (and Jay and Adam), Wally (and Zach), Paul M., Drew G, Branwyn, Marcie, Mark, Jason L., Paul A., Julio, Thomas, Tyler (and Art), Matthew, Tara, Jonathan, and Thomas Cruise Mapother IV...the show wouldn't be the show without you all.
In September 2015 I proudly announced the roughs for Pix book 2 were done. That was the tip of the tip of the iceberg, let me tell ya. Since then I've been hammering away at the script and lettering...having drafts read by trusted friends, and making changes. It's been a longer process than I'd anticipated, for a number of reasons, but as of today, the fourth draft is done. The book went from 176 to 200 pages, and currently clocks in at 192 pages. I think it's about there and ready for me to start drawing. I hope to confirm that when next month's newsletter appears in your inbox.
Of course, PIX: ONE WEIRDEST WEEKEND (which "went national" this month last year) is available at better local comic shops (if they don't have it, please do ask them to order copies - tell them it's great for people who like the CBS Supergirl show), on amazon.com, and of course at pixcomic.com/store, where you can get a signed copy (signed by me, to be clear). If you enter the code Feb16 at checkout, you'll get 20% off your order of the paperback, digital, or paperback/digital combo. This code will expire at the end of the month (it's a leap year, so you get one more day to use it).
