Chers tous,

voici les dernières bribes d'information, appels à projets, formations, dates et délais pour vos agendas, ainsi qu'une liste des films soutenus par MEDIA à découvrir sur nos écrans.

Si vous vous rendez à Berlin pour l'EFM et vous vous intéressez à l'une ou l'autre des formations soutenues par MEDIA, n'oubliez pas que vous avez l'opportunité de prendre rendez-vous avec  les représentants des formations ainsi qu'avec les bureaux Europe Créative et des représentants de l'EACEA au stand MEDIA dans le hall central du Martin Gropius Bau.

Soutien au développement de
jeux vidéo européens à caractère narratif

 

réf. appel: EACEA 20/2015

délai de candidature: 3 mars 2016

MEDIA soutient les développeurs européens indépendants dans leur projet de jeu vidéo avec un potentiel de circulation élevé en Europe et au-delà de ses frontières.



Sont éligibles les jeux vidéo numériques, quel qu’en soit la plateforme, destinés à une exploitation commerciale. Les projets visés doivent présenter :
  • une interactivité et une composante narrative marquées
  • une originalité et une créativité marquées
  • un caractère novateur
  • le potentiel de promouvoir la diversité culturelle et d’enrichir l’identité et le patrimoine culturels de l’Europe
  • une ambition commerciale forte et un potentiel de distribution transfrontalière et internationale élevé

Soutien aux initiatives pour le
développement des publics

MEDIA soutient les actions qui visent à promouvoir l’éducation et la culture cinématographiques et à accroître l’intérêt du public pour les œuvres audiovisuelles européennes. MEDIA soutient deux 'actions' différentes sous cet appel:

Action 1: initiatives européennes pour l'éducation à l'image
Action 2: initiatives européennes pour le développement des publics

Sont éligibles les projets portés par minimum trois partenaires d'au moins trois pays MEDIA différents et avec minimum 3 langues nationales différentes.

  • MAIA Workshops

MAIA WORKSHOPS is a training programme for 20 emerging producers, which consists of 3 workshops taking place in Romania, Poland and Italy. Participants can choose between attending one of the workshops without a project and attending the full course with a fiction feature, documentary or transmedia project in development.

  • TFL Audience Design 2016

Torino Film Lab's Audience Design course is for experienced film, games, media, sales and marketing professionals keen to create audience engagement strategies for international, independent film projects in various stages of production.

In two week-long seminars (May & August) selected participants discuss and test a wide range of audience engagement tools and gain hands-on experience in working on audience awareness and engagement strategies for independent and art-house film projects in advanced development or post-production.

  • Cross Channel Film Lab 2016

Cross Channel Film Lab is a unique training programme by Creative England, Le Groupe Ouest and Falmouth University for filmmakers working on low- to medium budget feature films requiring VFX and 3D technology to bring their stories to life.

The 'core programme' strand of CCFM consists of online seminars, residential workshops, masterclasses and script consulting sessions for 20 selected participants with an early stage feature film project. (A second deadline for a further group of filmmakers wishing to apply for the 'online strand' of CCFL will be published later this year.)

  • Serial Eyes 2016/17

Serial Eyes is a Berlin-based, 8 month full-time TV series writing and producing course developed by the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB), in cooperation with the London Film School and the National Film School of Denmark.
It gives 12 selected students the opportunity to learn form and be coached by high-profile international show runners and renowned industry speakers, and to pitch their
 projects to European TV professionals at Berlinale, during the London workshop, at Cannes MIPTV and in the final SERIAL EYES Pitching Session.

  • DOK Incubator

Director-producer-editor teams can now enter their feature documentary at rough cut stage for DOK Incubator, a five month course that takes place in three different European countries and that allows participants to finish editing their film and to design a distribution and audience development strategy for their project. 

8 teams will be selected to attend the workshops in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Sweden.

  • The Film Garage - genre scripts workshop

The Film Garage is a new workshop set up by Scuola Holden in partnership with Nisi Masa and in cooperation with Courmayeur Noir In Festival and Frontières.  It focuses on genre film (thriller, horror, crime, black comedy, noir and road movies) and aims to help participants work on their projects by resolving underlying script problems.

A total of 9 scriptwriters will be selected to take part in the course's five intensive sessions.

  • Sources2 Script Development Workshop

Screenwriters and writer-director and/or producer-teams with a feature length-film project in development can now apply to the upcoming Sources" Script Development Workshop, which will take place at FilmCamp Norway in June (9-17). 

The seven day residential workshop will be followed by a coached, interactive three month rewriting period and an intensive follow-up session for each project. 

A maximum of 15 projects will be selected.

  • The Pixel Lab 2016

Over four months, the Pixel Lab provides 20 experienced producers with, and 20 media professionals without a project with an unrivalled understanding of how to create, finance and distribute interactive cross-media projects and how to engage audiences.

The programme consists of a first workshop taking place at the end of June in Scotland, a follow-up distance learning period and a closing workshop in mid-October, which will take place against in the context of Power to the Pixel in London. It features mentoring sessions with renowned experts and one-on-one meetings with key industry professionals.

  • EPI European TV Drama Series Lab

The EPI's Berlin-based training programme consists of two five-day seminars (May and November 2016) and is designed for experienced scriptwriters, producers and broadcasters who want to explore the essential elements of the successful drama series. Top industry experts from across Europe and the US share their expertise and provide exclusive insights.

  • Inside Pictures

If you have a minimum of 5 years proven business experience in film or a related creative industry such as production, development, acquisitions, directing, marketing, distribution, exhibition, advertising, sales, talent representation or finance, you can now apply to this year's edition of Inside Pictures.
The course is an opportunity for 20 ambitious film executives and producers to expand their knowledge of how the international business of film really works, to extend their network of professional contacts, raise their profile and become skilled, knowledgeable and adaptable leaders. 


Inside Pictures takes place in London and Los Angeles and consist of four modules.

  • EPI e:training - European Co-production
The Erich Pommer Institute has launched a new online training course covering a wide range of issues related to European co-production. The course allows participants to learn from renowned international experts whilst being able to study anywhere, anytime and on any device.

The course can be taken over a six month period.

  • DOK.Forum Marketplace Munich

DOK.Forum is all about stimulating European co-production and will take place from 6-12 May. 

Filmmakers, authors and directors can meet leading industry producers, distributors and commissioning editors from the German-speaking area at thematic round tables to present their concepts and ideas.

  • Séries Mania - European Co-production Forum 2016
The call for projects for this year's edition of the Séries Mania Co-production Forum is now open. 15 TV series projects in development will be selected to be pitched to a panel of 200 key-players of the European TV Industry: producers, distributors, TV broadcasters, private and public funds… The pitching session will be followed by one-on-one meetings.

The Forum programme also features conferences, presentations of broadcasters and a work-in-progress case study.

  •  2016 Visegrad Animation Forum (CZ)

You can now enter your animated short film projects or animated TV Series & TV Special projects in development for this year's edition of the VAF pitching competition, which will take place from 3 to 5 May this year. 

The best short film project will receive development support of 2000 €. 
The winning TV series or TV special project will be guaranteed a spot a Cartoon Forum.

  • Berlin EFM: European Film Forum & MEDIA Day 

Save the Date - This year's MEDIA@Berlinale Day on the 15 February will be all about going digital and feature the European Film Forum - a series of conferences on the European film industry - and the reception for the launch of the festivities to celebrate 25 years of MEDIA.

  • MIPTV MEDIA umbrella stand - register now

Creative Europe MEDIA brings together European producers and distributors on a dedicated stand. Participants pay a reduced fee for their accreditation and in addition receive added-value services to raise their profile and promote their films and projects.

  • Round Table: International Distribution of Animated Films

Creative Europe Desk MEDIA Belgium are teaming up with a range of partners to host a round table event and networking lunch as part of the 2016 edition of Festival Anima. 

The event will explore issues relating to the international distribution of animated films and will take place at Flagey (Brussels) on the 10 February. It will be held in English.
