Call for CLE Seminar Proposals
 
National Bar Association 91st Annual Convention 
July 16-22, 2016
St. Louis, MO
 

The National Bar Association is seeking submissions for the 2016 91st Annual Convention to be held in St. Louis, MO, July 16-22, 2016.  Basic and advanced CLE presentations will be offered to provide both new and experienced conference attendees current information and opinion on both continuing and evolving legal topics.
 
Anyone wishing to conduct a CLE seminar is invited to submit a seminar proposal form. Access the NBA standard CLE proposal form here, or online at www.nationalbar.org.
 
The deadline for submissions is APRIL 16, 2016. Proposals submitted after this date will not be considered for scheduling at the NBA 91st Annual Convention.
When reviewing the CLE seminar proposal submissions, the CLE Committee will complete its evaluation based on the following criteria:
  • The content offers a significant contribution to the purpose of the conference and can clearly fit into a specific area.
  • The CLE seminar has a clear purpose and objective.
  • The CLE seminar format is dynamic and engages the audience through participation and discussion.
Once your submission has been approved, you will be notified and given further information with regard to submitting your seminar materials. Seminar presenters will be required to sign a release and submit information for promotional materials by a certain date. Please keep the following in mind when planning your seminar:
  • Each CLE seminar shall have no more than six (6) presenters or panelists, including the moderator. The moderator should not be a panelist unless there are three or fewer panelists. The moderator shall be responsible for administrative duties related to the seminar, such as distributing and collecting evaluations, securing attendance sheets, and distributing CLE materials to attendees.
  • All seminars are required to provide substantive course handouts containing information commensurate with the complexity and content of the course.  Course materials need not be original material. It can include law review articles, copies of cases and annotations, laws and codes as well as any material that commensurate with a high educational standard for teaching the substantive, ethical and practical skills of law. Materials may be accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation.
Due to the complex nature of scheduling the convention, with many different speakers and presenters, notifications may be made at different times. Fully confirmed presenters may be posted on the NBA website or in promotional material as we receive them. We apologize for the possible lengthy wait and as always appreciate your patience.
 
Please note: Travel to and accommodations during the conference are the responsibility of the presenter.
