  • Jensen has emailed members an updated race sponsor packet for the race.  We need to ALL work to get sponsors.  He's asking members to take sponsor information to businesses they may have a relationship with and talk to them about being a sponsor for our race.  If you need a copy of the packet click here to download.
  • Feb 16 is the monthly board meeting at 1:30.  If you have anything to be discussed let Dawn know.
  • No meeting March 15 because of the election.
  •  The Fatz Pancake breakfast fundraiser will be March 19th.
  • We received a thank you from The Baptist Retirement home for our delivery of the flowers at Christmas.

Tiffany Wooten, the adviser of the Key Club at Erwin HS, visited our club today.  This is their first full year as a charter club. Last year they had 12 members and this year there are 34!   Some activities they are doing are  selling candy grams to students for Valentine's Day and volunteering at Manna Food Bank and Brother Wolf. They are planning on helping with the  race in May.
  • Darshan fell on the ice last week and broke some bones.  We wish him a speedy recovery.

  • Jessica Stavish will be working at On Track, providing free tax preparations. If you, or someone you know, need help with taxes contact her, or see the website for  more information.   http://ontrackwnc.org/tax_time.htm
Our speaker was Asheville Police Chief,Tammy Hooper.
  • This is her  30th year of law enforcement.
  • She comes to Asheville from Arlington, Va..
  • Her first task when she got here was to even out workloads and responsibilities of those on the force.
  • Her vision is for Asheville to be the  leading law enforcement agency in WNC.
  • She has realigned patrol districts to improve response times.
  • Officers will begin having body cameras  by summer. It will be about 3 years until all officers  have them.
  • The most surprising thing to her about Asheville is the number of homeless people.
  • The most enjoyable thing to her is being in the outdoors.

Next Week's speaker will be our District Governor, Dawn Puderbaugh.
