January 2016

You know that point when you learn something new or get a revelation and you seem to be reminded of it where ever you turn? Like, if you get a new car and then all of a sudden you see the same exact car EVERY WHERE!

At the end of the year, Luke was leading worship at church and as I was sitting there in the presence of God, I was suddenly overcome by gratefulness as I had a revelation from the Spirit on God's Goodness. I was reflecting on the fact  that we had been here (San Jose) for 6 years.... SIX YEARS!! What?!?! We came here with just the word of the Lord, several suitcases and very little resources and WE ARE STILL HERE! How AMAZING is God?! I was moved to tears and my heart exploded with thanksgiving as I was reminded of all the people the Lord surrounded us with over the years and here we were entering yet another year of His Goodness.

Since that day, it seems like my heart has shifted to view things through that revelation. I've been contemplating His Goodness. He is a Good, Good Father!

This new year has provided us a lot of discipleship relationships with young people on their Jesus seeking journey, families and other ministry pioneers. We are blessed that God is still providing lots of hands-on ministry as we pray through and plan this next season of Ember Ink. He is bringing restoration to us in the deepest of ways and helping us heal the deepest battle wounds of the last 5 years and helping us articulate the principals that we've learned in the process. It has been a good and refreshing season for us. This shift in perspective is what I've needed to get over the hump of disappointment in my personal capacity and delayed timeline.

My challenge to you today is: What is one area in your life that you can see the Goodness of God? Sit on that, meditate on how deep His Goodness is in that... and see how it changes your perspective. He is PERFECT in all His ways. Why not give Him the Glory for that TODAY?

FAMILY UPDATE: My sister, her husband and 2 year old son just moved in after doing Bible School in Taiwan for a year. She is being induced tonight for the birth of her second son! So things are buzzing over here as we shifted our home to fit 10 instead of 6. Please be praying for ALL of us in this transition.
