Fonda, NY – Each month the Montgomery County Business Development Center will focus on a business within our County. This month we focused on the Sanford Clock Tower.

The Sanford Clock Tower is a beautiful 6-story brick building built in 1922 by Stephen Sanford as the headquarters for his carpet business. Over 90 years later the building has undergone many transformations of use including the worldwide headquarters for Coleco – remember Cabbage Patch Dolls, and ColecoVision?

The current owners have been restoring the property with a focus on adaptive reuse while keeping with its heritage. The history of the building can be seen in the character of the restored maple floors that retain all the distressed beauty of almost 100 years of use.
