Dare I say, it's been a monumental couple of weeks since the last issue of The Scrap Basket. I celebrated my 5 year blogiversary, hit the milestone of 5000 followers on Instagram, and this issue of the newsletter is going to press with over 900 subscribers. All of that is a tad overwhelming, but I want to thank you much for being out there and following along. "Thank you" doesn't seem like much, but trust me. It's heartfelt.
I was so intrigued that Daisy/ants to sugar used the design on her quilt backing as a guide for quilting. She gives some tips in her blog post.
ROUND-UP
About the time I chose hearts as the round-up for this issue, I began to see them everywhere! So in addition to the sweet quilts I'm sharing here, you'll find lots more in my pin board, Hearts.
Sarah/[sleinwand] got such a distinctive look for her Pixelated Heart, with her use of neutrals and black for the background. Her quilt was made using a free pattern on the Robert Kaufman website.
And finally, a quilt I actually had a hand in, HeartBEEts a baby quilt made by the Bee Sewcial bee for member Marci/Marci Girl Designs when her daughter was born. The group was all asked to submit heart blocks to Stephanie/Spontaneous Threads, who pieced the quilt top (top photo). I pieced the back (bottom photo), and Leanne/she can quilt quilted and bound it. Even though there's no pattern for this quilt, I thought all the different hearts might give you even more ideas.
P.S. Every now and then, it seems I happen across several new-to-me people to follow or hashtags to explore in a short time span. That took place again this last week. Check out suzyquilts on Instagram, the blog by Sarah/smiles too loudly and a couple of hashtags: #husbandsholdingquilts and #owensoliviafridayfind. I found all enjoyable places to be, and I hope you do too.
