City of Vadnais Heights Development News

GATEWAY SIGN
The City Council approved the construction of a City entrance monument sign at the corner of Highway 96 and Centerville Road (Heights Plaza property, where Noodles & Company is located) at their City Council meeting on February 3rd.  This is one of the main gateways into our community, and this type of sign helps to create a sense of place, as well as community identity.  In addition, entrance monument signage is identified as a priority in the City’s current Comprehensive Plan.

CITY CENTER STREET LIGHTS
The City Council recently approved the City Center Street Light Project, which involves the replacement of the street lights within City Center and the retrofitting of the existing lights with brackets for banners, hanging flower baskets, and flags.  The project area includes County Road E, Talmage Circle, Willow Lake Boulevard, Vadnais Center Drive, Talmage Lane, City Center Drive, and City Center Lane.

MEDICAL MARIJUANA
The Planning Commission continues to review medical marijuana and its effects in regards to land use.  At this point, they are considering adding medical marijuana distribution facilities - which function similarly to medical clinics - as a Special Use Permit in the Commercial Zoning Districts with very specific security requirements.  If you’d like more information or would like to provide input, please contact Carie Fuhrman at the City of Vadnais Heights.

PEOPLES BANK MIDWEST
The City Council approved the People’s Bank project proposed at the corner of Highway 61 and County Road E on Lot 5 of the Sports Center Development.  The City is excited to welcome People’s Bank into Vadnais Heights!
