49 Days Until Spring!

Yep, spring is getting closer and closer, which also means, so is our spring kick-off event! The kick-off will be
April 2nd, 11am - 3pm in Lansburgh Park (1098 Delaware Ave SW).

Our January meeting produced the following list of activities that will be going on throughout the day:
  • Warm-up, mini-workout, and stretching to get the blood flowing with local fitness trainer, Demeitric Mason.
  • A presentation from DC Water on their biosolids program (they'll also be delivering at least 2 cubic yards of compost).
  • Expanding the pollinator garden.
  • Planting the garden beds.
  • Making smoothies using a bike-powered blender.
  • Organizing the tool shed.
  • Making artistic signs to label and decorate the garden.
  • An herb seedling giveaway.
  • Healthy food/recipe demonstration.
  • General garden clean-up.
The activities that are in bold and underlined still need someone to volunteer to be the lead person. If you'd like to be the lead person for one of those activities, or would like to help out with some of the others, add your name to this document. No prior experience is needed, we'll make sure you have all the information you need!

To make sure we're on track, and to continue our planning process, we'll be having another get-together in February. If you're interested in attending, please fill out this Doodle so we can determine the most convenient day and time for everybody.

Finally, did you know we're on Instagram (@swgardensdc)?! We've only got 1 photo so far, but our insta-debut is official! More to come..

Looking forward to the spring!
