Where exactly did January go? While holidays tend to whizz past in the blink of an eye, there's no denying that the first couple of months of a new year have an air of optimism and possibility about them.

Our 2016 events calendar has kicked off in great style, with our first networking even already under our belt. This months see the addition of a brand new networking opportunity - don't miss the details on our Munchly Lunch series. The Mosman Markets are back this Saturday and we'd love to see you visit the Chamber's stall. And like clockwork, we'll close out the month with our second Business After Hours event for the year. 		Join us for Lunch - munchly! The Munchly Lunch is a social networking lunch series, held on the second Friday of each month. It’s a casual, simple, pay-as-you-order lunch held at a different Mosman venue each month, to help keep Mosman business people connected. On Friday 12 February, we'll be catching up at Stranded Gourmet Cafe from 12:30pm. No need to pre-book your lunch - we just ask that you RSVP and let us know you're coming, so we can reserve tables. Let's face it ... we all work hard and deserve a Friday lunch break every now and then, whether you're there for a quick bite, or keen to linger a bit longer.

	Our next BAH is on Tuesday 23 February
	Jointly hosted by Corish & Co. Specialist Family Lawyers and Gail Sherlock Solicitor, held upstairs at the Mosman Art Gallery. Andrew and Gail are promoting Collaborative Law, an approach they use to help their clients stay out of court. Free for members and just $10 for non-members.

	Mosman Merger - have your say
	The State Government has announced a proposal to merge Mosman with Manly and part of Warringah local government areas. Express your opinion at a public meeting TODAY, Tuesday 2 February at 1pm or 7pm at Manly Golf Club, or make public submissions in writing by 28 February.


Fantastic BAH at Hotel Mosman We have kicked off our 2016 events calendar in great style with our first Business After Hours event at Hotel Mosman. A big thank you to Peter Crocker and the team at Hotel Mosman for hosting us at the Duck! It was fantastic to see so many members and also new faces, keen to network and get to know their fellow local business people. Looks like it's going to be a great year ahead. Membership Growth The Chamber Committee is working hard to grow the membership of the Chamber - because more members is beneficial for all of us. Especially with the current uncertainty about Council amalgamations, it's important for our business community to band together and support one another. We’d like to encourage all Chamber members to have a conversation with at least one of their neighbouring businesses and encourage them to join the Chamber – or at least encourage them to get in touch with us so we can talk to them about membership. Know someone looking for a career kick-start? Chamber member business Signarama has recently secured funding for 20 placements in Pre-Apprenticeship Course through Sydney Insistute of TAFE (Ultimo). Six week course, free for students - five weeks classroom, one weeks work experience in a Signarama store, commencing March 2016. No better way to get a feel for the industry. A pathway to an apprenticeship straight out of the course.
