On December, students from High School were invited to participate in the “Refugee Poster Contest”. In order to incentive their sensibility to the current refugee crisis posters were elaborated related to a particular case of refugees, along with the pertinent investigation.
The winners of each category told us a little about their research. Alejandra Gavela and Lía Enriquez the winners of the eight and nine grade, portrayed Nigerian refugees escaping from extremist Islamic groups. Antonella Garzón and Emilia Arroyo, who won the contest among the tenth grade and the Sophomore class, based their work in the life of Albert Einstein, and finally, Carla Estrella and Juan Diego Garzón, the winners of Junior and Senior class, drew a reference to Freddy Mercury.
In conclusion, the contest fulfilled its purpose increasing sensibility towards refugees among people of our school.
