We are a family-driven, Gospel-centered church. Thank you for experiencing family with us!

I thank God for faithful farmers. God has called us all to work His field, but sometimes, church members fall into the trap of thinking ministry is only for the pastors or missionaries.  Here at Tabernacle, that's simply not the case. You know that your every day work is your mission field.  Are you a plumber? A stay-at-home parent? A mechanic? A teacher?  We are all missionaries!

I am so blessed to be a part of the ministry at Tabernacle.  One of my favorite things about being here is that our church body has a mission-oriented mindset.

This week, I received a call from a man, who we'll call Pete for this note.  Pete was looking to speak with a pastor and he confessed he had been burdened by the weight of his mistakes and wrongdoings.  You might ask, what would lead him to call Tabernacle over another church in town?  He chose to call Tabernacle because months ago, as you were passing by, somebody in our church felt led to talk to Pete about the love of Jesus. Already, God was sowing conviction in Pete's heart toward repentance, and one of you spoke out, followed the leading of the Holy Spirit, and spoke truth into Pete's life.  Now, we have a new brother to rejoice with in Christ! After chatting on the phone, Pete repented of his sins and put his faith and trust in Jesus. Thanks to our missionaries at Tabernacle, one who was lost is now found. Luke 15:10 says, "...today there is joy in heaven because of this sinner who repents.”

Moreover, Paul said in 1 Corinthians 3:6-7, some sow the seed of the Gospel, others water, but God brings the growth.

Friend, I pray that you do not lose heart if you have yet to see the fruit of your ministry. Remember what Paul also says, “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?  And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ’HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!”

Keep sowing seeds. Keep watering.  Keep taking the Good News of Jesus to this lost and dying world. Do you want to feel more equipped to join this sowing and watering? We have a class coming up in March called “Can We Talk.”  Taught by Mike Sellers, this class will help equip you to share your faith for the glory of Jesus Christ.

THIS WEEK'S SERMON

At the end of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus challenges His followers with one of the greatest truth-filled inspirational speeches ever. Why does He need to motivate them? Because He is about to tell them the cost of following Him. This week, we'll discuss Matthew 7:13-14, "The Narrow Path."

FEATURED RESOURCE: BOOK REVIEW: FLICKERING LAMPS

This week, our Pastoral Intern, Rick Barber, shares his book review of Henry & Richard Blackaby's "Flickering Lights." Here's an excerpt:

"Flickering Lamps is a very inspirational book about how to battle the undeniable trend of decline in the Christian church.  The book is a testimony of a pastor who made a missionary move from a large and successful church in a very prominent part of the United States to a small, failing and broken church in Canada."
