Glorifying God

Message from Pastor Mark
My friends in Christ,  for that is what you are,

Friends, after a few weeks focusing on our mission and vision at Crestview Church we are going to explore the nature of FAITH.  Faith is a foundational building block of our Christian Community together.  This week we will look at the definition of faith from Hebrews 11:1-2.  We will explore the language and essence of faith as evidenced by God's story of God's people.  Read the entire chapter of Hebrews 11 in preparation for Sunday's message.  Ask yourself: What does faith look like?  There are all kinds of clues as to 'how' faith looks in the lives of the examples given.  In our time of reflection on the message after the worship service (DOWNLOAD), we will focus on a model for understanding faith in a well-rounded/comprehensive way.  Looking at the FAITH CUBE :)
Next week, we will dig a bit deeper into faith and the call of God on our lives personally by looking at the Story of Jesus calling Peter out of the boat and come to him out on the water from Matthew 14.  Looking forward to seeing you in worship soon.

As you read Hebrews 11, you may just want to keep reading into chapter 12... its hard to stop... at least read through 12:3.

See you Sunday!

In Christ,
Pastor Mark

Children's Sunday School 10:15am
Sunday School this year has been focusing on characters of the Old Testament. Ruth and Jackie have come up with a plan to help Crestview Children learn more in-depth about these characters.  This Sunday, we will be talking about Samuel, and how he is part of God's great big plan

After the Sunday sermon, please get your coffee and join Mark in the Fellowship Hall Library for a time of reflection and "unpacking" the sermon.

Becoming Like Christ

Crestview Memory Verses
During the first four months of 2016 our fellowship is committing Philippians 3:7-11 to memory.  If you haven't already done so, try to memorize verse 8 this week.

(7)What was to my profit I n   ow consider loss
for the sake of Christ.
(8)What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus, my Lord,  for whose sake I have lost all things.

Thank You Note from Christmas Child:
Under the guidance of Ruth and Jackie, our children put together some fantastic boxes of gifts in December.  Here is the thank you from OCC:

On behalf of Operation Christmas Child, I would like to thank you for partnering with us to bless children in other countries with shoebox gifts.  Not only does a child receive a loving gift but also has the opportunity to hear the Gospel.  We look forward to working with your church again in 2016.
Blessings
- Pauline Zastrocky
