Lightbox is a FREE monthly photography workshop for young people aged between 12 and 16.

Returning after it's winter break, Lightbox gives an opportunity for young creatives to work on fun photographic projects and learn new skills with Oriel Colwyn's curator and photographer, Paul Sampson.

Each Lightbox session runs for two hours and is limited to a maximum of 10 participants. We aim to make these sessions inclusive to all, don't worry if you haven't got a camera - we have a selection here you can borrow for the sessions.

In January we ran 'Pixelsticking' workshops at the Take pART festival in Venue Cymru, it's a fabulous festival was really busy but you may have seen us!

Many gallery and photography supporters have been donating their old used equipment to our darkroom project and more recently have been voting for the project via the North Wales Police 'Your Community, Your Choice' Participatory Budget Fund.

We are extremely grateful for the continued support and wonderfully proud to announce that with your help, we have won the funding required to complete the darkroom.

-------     THANK YOU!     -------

Planning is now taking place to build, equip and facilitate the darkroom for photographers, both old and new. Important educational and community use will also form part of a programme that will add to the vibrant North Wales photography scene.

A resource to inspire creativity.

Follow Oriel Colwyn on Twitter and Facebook for regular updates as the project progresses.
