I kicked off Black History Month by meeting one of the most iconic literary figures alive.  Nothing short of amazing.

Distraught, Ella Mae and her friends create their very own shoe sale, allowing members of the community a place to try on shoes and pick and choose the ones they like. Set in the South during the time of segregation, this illustrated book brings the civil rights era to life.
