Any River... Anytime℠

Hello Fly Anglers,

After a very snowy and cold January we are seeing a little relief and that’s letting us get back on the water. Good news, there are decent numbers of steelhead around, we continue to update the Manistee River report page. The weather forecast is showing lots of high 20’s and low 30’s. Watch the 10 day and if a decent weather day coincides with a day you get away, come on up and enjoy our half day winter special. $275 for 4 hours.

The main focus of this newsletter is to continue to improve the new website. We want it to be user friendly and have content that will benefit anglers.  Below you will see an article about navigating the site and some changes/improvements we have made.

We are actively filling our calendars for prime times this year. It is time to get your dates if you are looking for something specific i.e.; hex, steelhead, or spring streamers. It is also time to book the Garden River if you want to make that trip. It’s almost full!

Finally, thanks to all of you for your support and friendship. We are happy to make our living taking you fishing on Any River…Anytime.

Website Updates

In the last few weeks we have made a couple of changes to the website to make it easier to navigate.

First we have added “Fly Patterns” to the top menu and created a drop down menu of categories. Right now we have streamers, dry flies and nymphs. We are working hard to get more patterns filmed so the selection will increase.

Secondly every page on the website has a “Search” box on the right hand side of the page. Type in any subject and you will get a list of items that match that.

Finally, if you have any suggestions or comments please direct them to me at chuck@hawkinsflyfishing.com

Thank you

The Parr None streamer

this is a great streamer pattern for early spring in the midwest, or any river with a migration of Salmon Parr.  Brown Trout, Steelhead, Pike, and any other predator fish will focus on the Salmon Parr (both Chinook and Coho) as they migrate down the river system.  You can tie your Parr None pattern in a variety of colors, depending on water conditions.  By simply changing up the Ice Dub material and Rabbit Fur.  Make sure to try Blue/White and Chartreuse/White combinations.
