The L.I.O.N.  Award (Let's Improve Our Neighborhood) is given to a person/project/group  who contributed significantly to our community.  This year we are giving this award to Tim Gahagan for his service as President of the UCPD (Uptown Community Parking District) during its restructuring. He provided outstanding leadership bringing four community groups together to find better parking solutions for Uptown.

7:15 pm: HBA Projects Presentation

Ben Nichols, the Hillcrest Business Association Executive Director will lead a discussion concerning two new projects for Hillcrest.  First he will detail the plans for the greenway on Normal Street and then he will disucss the new Maintenance Assessment District (MAD) under formation for the Eastern part of Hillcrest.

7:45 pm: Discussion of the Uptown Gateway Council

Tom Mulaney (Uptown Planners) and Roy Dahl (Hillcrest Parking Committee) will discuss the newly formed Uptown Gateway Council which represents developers in the area of Sixth Ave from Pennsylvania to RT 163.  This group is concerned about issues of density and height and want to change the community plan that is in development.  Tom and Roy will pass a signup sheet for those interested in a sub-committee to monitor this new council.

Board Member Elections

Our March meeting includes the election of two new members to the Hillcrest Town Council.  Do you care enough about our community to run/volunteer?  The basic job is to attend two meetings a month: the community meeting and the steering committee meeting. Talk with with Luke Terpstra or anyone one else on our board.  You can make a difference on your community while working with some great people

Steering Committee Meetings

Hillcrest Town Council's Steering Committee is often where the magic begins.
Come be a part of the team that sets the agenda for our monthly meetings, and helps make other critical decisions about the Hillcrest Town Council direction.
