   Laundry Volunteer Needed

Looking for a new way to get involved with Loaves and Fishes? We are in need of laundry helpers on Wednesdays and Fridays! This is a great way to lend a LOT of help in a short amount of time. We are looking for someone who can pick up our laundry to wash and drop off in the same or following day. We are in close proximity to a laundromat and will provide soap and cash for laundromat machines. If you have any questions or ideas about how you can take on this role, please contact Colleen at 831-31904571 or volunteer@pvloavesandfishes.org.

PVLF Volunteers Receive Food Safety Training

Food safety and sanitation is of utmost importance here at PVLF.
Because we rely heavily on volunteers to acheive our mission, we take necessary strides to make sure they are well equipped with the knowledge and resources they need to succeed.

We are proud to announce that thanks to YOUR support,
our CET (Center for Employment Training) job trainees are now certified with their Food Handler Card. They completed the training on-site at PVLF and are now prepared to keep our kitchen as safe as possible. This certification is a true milestone for these participants, who hope to leave Loaves and Fishes to find permanent employment in food and hospitality.

Thank you for helping us make dreams come true!

Volunteer Spotlight

Ana Luisa Garcia Rincon

Loaves and Fishes awards Ana Luisa Garcia Rincon for her incredible support in the pantry throughout the past few months. She stepped in to work with us during the time of year when the number of pantry visits increases dramatically. Ana works full time as a volunteer with us through the CET (Center for Employment Training) Program. She arrives bright and early every morning to unload produce items from the refrigerator storage and set up the fresh produce selection of the day. Whether she is sweeping and organizing the pantry storage room or sorting through carrots and onions, Ana keeps a smile on her face and does not hesitate to find the joy in any given moment here at Loaves and Fishes. Due to the new ramp construction at our entrance, the pantry has been moved from the front of the house to the outside dining area throughout the past month and a half, making for a chillier volunteer experience for pantry assistants! Ana has consistently donned her hat and gloves to work outside during these frosty and rainy mornings, so we are EXTRA grateful for her flexibility and hard work.
Thank you Ana!
