Chloë Bass: Art Newsletter, February 2016.
Happy February, and happy year of the Monkey.

At the end of 2014, and through part of 2015, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Naeem Mohaiemen on his film Last Man in Dhaka Central (The Young Man Was, Part 3). Naeem and I traveled to the Netherlands to meet with Peter Custers, the film's subject -- a very meaningful experience for me.

I'm pleased to announce that Last Man in Dhaka Central is having its U.S. premiere this month as part of MoMA's Doc Fortnight. There are two screenings: February 23rd (8 PM), and February 28th (4:30 PM). There will be a post-screening discussion with me on both days, as I am representing the film for Naeem.

Tickets become available today, February 9th. I hope you can make it!

Read below for some other, smaller announcements: a bit of reading, and a silly thought.

May your short month be sweet,
Chloë
As I promised would be the cast in my last update, the final installment of my Greensboro journal for The Book of Everyday Instruction, Chapter Three is up now on Hyperallergic. You can also listen to audio interviews with my project participants through this post! Stay tuned for more writings on other subjects soon, too.
A funny theme of my internet these past few weeks has been photos of the back of my head. You saw one of me with Naeem and Peter. Another few can be found here in this article by Gretchen Coombs.

Here's to being in the right place, at the right time, facing the wrong direction.
