What to do if your club is over capacity - a message from FFV CEO Peter Gome
"Season 2015 saw unpredecented demand to play football in Victoria with FFV recording a 13% increase in player numbers.

We want to build on the success of 2015 and continue to grow the game this year. As a result many clubs will find themselves at capacity in terms of player numbers. Whilst we never want a club to have to turn a potential player away, that is to some extent inevitable at present given the growth of the game and shortfall in facilities.

What is critical is that those players are not lost to the game whilst we as an organisation work with clubs, council, and state government to improve ground access and quality. In short, if your club is approached by a player wanting to play football in 2016 and your club is at capacity, we want to make it as easy as possible for that player to find another, suitable club."

Is your club a registered 'Kick-Off' site?
AIA Vitality MiniRoos Kick-Off is the new, introductory football program for boys and girls aged 4-9. The program offers clubs, schools, and community organisations the opportunity to deliver a nationally consistent and endorsed FFA program.
 
The Kick-Off program has been designed to introduce kids to the world game. The sessions are focused on fun, football-related games and activities that develop skill and build confidence. It gives children the confidence to transition into Club Football when they are ready.
 
Over 100 clubs across the country have already registered.

FFV is looking at how we can better service our coaches in and beyond the 2016 season.

The FFV Technical Department has compiled a 2016 Coaching Pack, which you can hand out to your club's coaches for the upcoming season.

Is your club interested in hosting a referee course?
FFV is now taking expressions of interest from clubs that are interested in hosting a level 4 referee course. To host a course clubs are required to have a venue with seating such as a clubroom, a projector and access to a pitch.

The level 4 referee course is aimed at students who wish to referee in junior matches. It consists of theory modules, practical sessions and mentoring as a referee and assistant referee at a community level.

It costs $125 per student, including free first year registration, adidas referee shirt, assistant referee flags, whistle and a red/yellow card set.

2016 Club Administrator's Conference timetable released
The annual Club Administrators Conference will be held Saturday February 13, and the timetable for the event is now online.

The conference is for new and returning club administrators, with information and training sessions held on the day to cover all bases ahead of the 2016 season.

Run Fit Football at your club in 2016!
What is Fit Football?

It is a group based fitness session involving a football. It is designed to be run alongside training sessions to get parents active at the same time their kids are. No football skills are necessary for participants and it is free for clubs to run.

What does your club need to run Fit Football?

A dedicated deliverer and some equipment. FFV provides all documents including the delivery manual and registration forms. You just need to find someone with a passion to run it and parents to participate!

Club logo upgrade
FFV media will be putting a greater emphasis and focus on the Victorian qualifying rounds of Westfield FFA Cup this season and early rounds of the Team App Cup.

We hope to have as many club logos as possible for promotion of these tournaments to help promote your club to the wider Victorian community.

Clubs are asked to send their club logo at the highest available resolution (EPS files if possible) to communications@ffv.org.au.

Numbers up at 2016 Referee Seminar
On January 31, FFV hosted the 2016 Referee Seminar at Monash University (Caulfield). 308 referees were in attendance a 50 per cent increase on last year's attendance.

Referees of all levels were present and were educated on the latest refereeing matters in preparation for the 2016 FFV season.

FFV President Kimon Taliadoros welcomed the referees ahead of a busy schedule with guest speakers including: Joe Palatsides from the City Football Group, Eugene Brazzale the Elite Referees Coach at FFA and Hyundai A-League referees Jarred Gillett and Shaun Evans.

FFV Referees look forward to a successful 2016 season.
