Schools Northeast   A new international report found that more than a fifth of 15-year-old students in the UK are "low-performers" in mathematics. 

The study, published by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) also revealed that 22% of teenagers struggled with arithmetic, 17% had difficulties with reading and 15% struggled with science.
