Issue #1
Hello from Angela
Welcome to In The Glow! I'm so thrilled that you've signed up for our newsletter. We're kicking off with a special Valentine's-themed edition that's packed with recipes and tips to streamline your day. We hope you enjoy and find inspiration in this first issue, and look forward to bringing you another in a couple weeks!

This year has gotten off to a busy start at Oh She Glows HQ, and I'm so excited to share what's to come in 2016! As a subscriber, you will be the first to find out about new info, special offers, and personal opportunities to get involved. Be sure to always check out the "News + Updates" section in each newsletter.

We're busy working on a special project that we'll be launching by late winter/early spring. I'm shooting new photography for all of our reader-favourite recipes on the blog (boy, did some of those old photos need updating!!) and also tweaking and improving the recipes and directions as I go. The result will be a more polished collection of favourite recipes/photos on the blog, and in our new project. Three cheers for that! Want to find out what all this excitement is about? Read on!
News + Updates
1. BIG NEWS! If you haven't already guessed (or seen the sneak peeks on Snapchat), we're releasing an Oh She Glows app!! I'm over the moon with excitement, and can't wait for you to use it. We're now looking for "beta testers" to give feedback on the app's functionality and ease of use, and to provide suggestions on how it might be improved before we actually launch. If you'd like to apply to be a beta tester, please click this link to apply (or feel free to forward this information to someone who might want to take part). Unfortunately, we won't be able to accept everyone so please don't get discouraged if you don't hear back! We thank you in advance for your interest!

2. Pre-ordering is now available for my next cookbook, Oh She Glows Every Day, on Amazon.ca and Chapters/Indigo.ca (many more retailers to come). The official release date is September 6, 2016not too much longer now!! I'll be sure to show you a sneak peek of the cover as soon as it's ready.

3. In case you missed it on the blog last week, I shared a crazy delicious recipe called Next Level Vegan Enchiladas! This is the recipe to make when you want to WOW your friends, partner, or family.

Q + A of the Week
Q: Hi Angela, I promised to cook my girlfriend a plant-based Valentine's Day dinner this year, and I'm lost as to what to make. Any ideas? Thanks, Mark.

A: Hi Mark, That's quite the thoughtful undertaking, but I'm confident you will knock it out of the park! I think the most important aspect of planning a special meal is to select recipes that won't overwhelm you. You don't want to take on too much and lose the fun in the process (trust me, I've been there). My first suggestion is to pick a dessert that can be made in advance (such as my Chilled Chocolate Torte in The Oh She Glows Cookbook [p. 241] or my Chilled Dark Chocolate Pie [above]). This way, you won't have to worry about it
on the day of! I'd also recommend serving an elegant yet easy-to-prepare main course. Pasta is ALWAYS a big hit on Valentine's Day (it's usually what we make at home), and many of my pasta dishes come together pretty easily. I recommend trying the Luxurious Tomato-Basil Pasta from The Oh She Glows Cookbook (p. 181). Prep time is just 20 minutes! It would be lovely with some homemade garlic bread and a simple side salad. I hope this helps get the wheels turning! Whatever you make I'm sure she'll be more than happy that you went to the trouble. Have a great celebration!

Double Chocolate
Crispy Frozen Dessert Bars

I'm cold, crispy, creamy, chocolaty, nutty, no-bake, vegan, gluten-free, and seriously hard to resist! No, make that impossible to resist.

This chilled dessert is a hybrid of two of my favourite desserts in The Oh She Glows Cookbookthe Chilled Chocolate Espresso Torte (p. 241) and my Beat the Heat Frozen Dessert Pizza (p. 269). Add a dollop of coconut whipped cream and roasted hazelnuts on top, and you'll be in vegan dessert heaven.
