About This Sunday, February 14, 2016 -
We begin the journey to Easter with a new series, Becoming.  This Sunday is also packed with some great activities.  You do not want to miss any one of them - see below for details!

10:00AM - SUNDAY SCHOOL/SMALL GROUPS -  all ages
Most classes will be discussing today's topic from our
Becoming series:  Overcoming Selfishness:  The Inclusive Call to become like Christ.  The purpose of the lesson is to help us see people like Jesus sees them and recognize this Kingdom (including The Church) is equal-opportunity;  I live for God and others, not myself.  The Scriptures for this Sunday are Luke 4:1-13 and Romans 10:8b-13.

10:00AM - HAITIAN WORSHIP - HERITAGE CHAPEL

10:00AM - AFRICAN  WORSHIP - WISE CHAPEL

FUNDING THE MISSION - TODAY, FEBRUARY 14 - FUND-RAISING DINNER IN THE GYM.
God has been gracious to the missional work in Haiti!  Reaching Beyond International, a division of the 510 Foundation invites you to a special Saint Valentine Fund-raising Dinner with your family and friends to enjoy the delicious flavor of Caribbean Cuisine.  The dinner is in the Fellowship Hall beginning right after the Celebration Worship service.  Please contact RBI to make reservations by the end of today (Thursday, the 11th) by clicking HERE.  You may also purchase tickets at the door for a donation of $10.  $5 for children under 10 years old.  Funds will support the continuing effort to complete the Van Mullen Memorial Clinic in the village of Siouell-Pernier II in Haiti.

11:00AM- THE BRANCH SERVICE - SANCTUARY

5:30PM - EMMAUS FELLOWSHIP - FELLOWSHIP HALL AND GYM

A SERIOUS CALL TO PRAYER

I have just come from a Holy Spirit moment in my life - tonight's Ash Wednesday service.  How the Lord spoke to me tonight, and others, maybe because we took the time to talk to Him and also to listen to Him?  To humble ourselves, repent and confess, and seek His face?

This Sunday evening we have another such opportunity, amazing as it sounds, through a motion picture.  When I saw War Room a few weeks ago on vacation, my heart was stirred.  Deeply.  I was challenged to prioritize my prayer life.  I haven't fully gotten there yet, but I'm making progress!

Karen and I were part of an annual pastor's conference where we spend a week together just a few days later. I was stirred again as pastor after pastor talked of how War Room had challenged them, and how they longed for their congregations to sense the call to prayer in new, contending ways.  It was there I sensed the Spirit saying - "show this move at NFCN."  And so we are.

This is not a night for entertainment, although it will be great to be together and have fellowship before and after.  This will be a night to hear a story, spoken out of our own realities, and the prayer life of a fervent woman calling us back to intercession and contending prayer before the Lord.

I urge you - be here.  Bring your families and friends.  Especially urge someone in your life who is in what seems to be an impossible situation to be there - the Spirit may well transform them this night.  And come with open hearts and minds.

We will have concessions sold, and the movie will also be playing on a large screen in the Woodland Street Mall so you can eat there if need be, as we prefer not to bring food into the sanctuary. I hope to see you at 5:30 Sunday.  Blessings.

THIS SUNDAY NIGHT: The motion picture War Room is coming to NFCN , February 14 in the sanctuary.  Refreshments will begin to be available at 5:00pm and served in the mall where the movie may also be viewed.  The movie screening starts at 5:30pm.  The movie is appropriate for children but there will be child care for birth through Fifth Grade beginning at 5:00pm.  This is a compelling drama with humor and heart that explores t
