HOW CAN IT BE FEBRUARY ALREADY?

We are back into Landcare with gusto this year. Our Office hours (if we had an office) have been extended to 9am - 3.30pm. Marg is available on the Office number 02 6862 4914 or via email pdlsc@bigpond.com

You may remember that in early December one of the beautiful gums that surround our building decided to pay us a personal visit and managed to do quite an impressive amount of damage to our CWLL Office.

We hope to be back in at the start of March, but the good news is that due to the wonders of technology we can still keep moving and organising meetings in cafes and.....I'm boosting the local economy....

To set our planning in the right direction and to make the most of opportunities in 2016-17 and beyond, we have put together a survey for our members and the wider community to encourage feedback on Landcare related activities, including workshops, on-ground works, training and other opportunities for funding that we can pursue to make a positive difference.
To participate in our five minute 'click and go' survey,
please click on the logo above.
We appreciate your participation.
Survey closes on Tuesday, 16/2.
Please click on our survey to find out ways that you could assist the Green Army Team and how they might be able to assist you to improve our local landscape.

HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT THE GREEN ARMY?

CWLL have been successful with an application to work with three consecutive Green Army teams commencing in July 2016. This Programme is aimed at 17 – 24 year olds who would like to train and work on environmental projects with the overarching priority for the project in our area to increase the linkages and condition of our local native vegetation.

CWLL activities will include flora and fauna surveys, seed collection, plant propagation, re-vegetation and weed surveys with a target on Grey Box Grassy Woodlands for the first and second projects.

Initially, we are hoping to hear from people who have local native species in their area who would be happy to have the Green Army Team in to collect seed over the next 12 months, with the plan to propagate our own local species to be used for planting back in our communities.

We also plan to be planting with the intention of extending corridor links for native vegetation. If you are interested in extending native planting with indigenous species on your property to improve corridor links, please contact me to talk about this opportunity.
Imagine seeing this logo from the air over hectares of land.
Don't you think it would make a fantastic landmark?

LANDCARE HANDS ON THE WORLD

I mentioned our first and second projects above, but what of the third project?
With the support of Landcare NSW, we have put forward a proposal to put Landcare and our area on the map (literally).
We have the opportunity to plant the Landcare hands (yep, you know the ones) as a landmark which we hope will not only provide another link for our corridor connections, but also put our area on the map.
We are looking for a minimum of 10 hectares to run the project. It would be a long term commitment, but there are endless benefits to be obtained. It has flexibility to be run in conjunction with a farming operation to show how the two can work together.
If you are interested in find out more information, please contact Marg on 6862 4914 or pdlsc@bigpond.com
We would love you to join us at our next
