February's Gospel Value
Compassion
Safe Environment
Every year we are required to provide Safe Environment Training for our students. This year we have invited a speaker from the Riverview Center in Dubuque to speak to our students about Bullying, Stranger Danger and Internet Danger. The 20 - 30 minute presentation will be age appropriate, as they have been conducting these talks with schools all over the State for many years. The presentation will take place on Tuesday, February 16. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me.

The online application is now open at http://www.psas.org/DUBQ.aspx. The deadline for Round #1 is March 24th (which is Holy Thursday).

3-D Printer
Ms. Hauschild has created a fundraising page towards the purchase of a 3-D printer for the school. If you'd like to, or know someone who would like to donate towards it's purchase, please visit: http://app.adoptaclassroom.org/classroomdonation/results_teacher.aspx?classroomid=215234. So far she has raised $250.
Conferences
The teachers and I are instituting a new optional conference format. Winter conferences (Feb. 23 & 24) will only be scheduled for a student at a parent’s or teacher’s request. Please contact the office and speak to Mrs. Robinson if a conference is being requested by you or the teacher. Sign-up sheets will not be available in church for this round of conferences.

1) Soda Pop Fundraiser: On Tuesday, February 9th the Hearts for Haiti committee is holding a pop for a dollar day. Your child may bring a can or bottle of pop to school, and a dollar for Haiti. If you don’t drink pop, that’s okay; you may bring a juice and a dollar instead.
2) Parents of middle school children: Please send a good pair of scissors to school with your child on Tuesday, February 9th. Students will cut jeans to make patterns for shoes for children in Uganda.
