Gideon Rubin: Memory goes as far as this morning
February 20 – May 22, 2016

Opening Reception: Sunday, February 28, Member reception, 1-2pm,
Public reception, 2-4pm

Memory goes as far as this morning marks Israeli-born artist Gideon Rubin’s first solo show in a public art space in the U.S. The work is the result of two residencies – one in Israel and one in China – where Rubin worked on pages taken from local newspapers and popular magazines. His painterly intrusions into these publications serve to undermine their journalistic veracity and bring into question society’s acceptance of their claims to truth. Learn more.

Gideon Rubin: Memory goes as far as this morning is supported in part by a generous grant from the Myra Reinhard Family Foundation.

Demarcate: Territorial Shift in Personal and Societal Mapping
February 28 – May 29, 2016

Opening Reception: Sunday, February 28, Member reception; 1-2pm,
Public reception, 2-4pm

A special ICA Live! performance, I Will Erase all Boarders with my Little Feet, by Alice Raymond will take place during the opening reception.

Demarcate: Territorial Shift in Personal and Societal Mapping brings together 14 artists whose work reflects the awareness of geographical territories and boundaries. Through works on paper, sculpture, painting, textile, video and performance, the artists thoughtfully challenge not only what is visually associated with the idea of mapping, but also address how shifting territories signify an emotional, social and political need to belong to a place. Learn more.

Demarcate: Territorial Shift in Personal and Societal Mapping is generously supported by a grant from the Applied Materials Foundation.
