Wayne Zhang (USC PhD May 2015) won the Layton-ANZMAC Award for best dissertation, from the Australia New Zealand Marketing Academy for the dissertation titled, “Essays in Understanding Virality of YouTube Video Ads: Dynamics, Drivers and Effects.” The study also won an MSI grant. Gerard Tellis (chair), Lan Luo, Debbie MacInnis, and Jinchi Lv served on the committee.

2016 EMAC McKinsey Marketing Dissertation Award
 
A new generation of marketing experts is developing the theories and tools that will shape the future of our field. The Marketing Dissertation Award, initiated by EMAC and McKinsey & Company, recognizes and encourages this emerging talent. This distinguished award will be presented in 2016 for the eighth time.

The top three finalists will be honored with cash prizes and the chance to present their work at the EMAC conference 2016.

13th Marketing Dynamics Conference (MDC)

Abstract Submission Deadline: February 5, 2016

We invite all interested researchers to participate in next year’s 13th Marketing Dynamics Conference, to be held at the University of Hamburg July 6-9, 2016. The Marketing Dynamics Conference is a forum whose relatively small scale (about 100-120 participants) ensures a vibrant discussion about cutting-edge research on managerially relevant dynamic marketing problems. We introduce a new PhD track with dynamic feedback on July 7, a dynamic best paper award, and allow 45 minutes for each presented paper.

Please submit your work until Feb 5, 2016 to marketing-dynamics@wiso.uni-hamburg.de. Decisions will be made by Feb 15, 2016.
