Special Announcements

Boy Scout Sunday

Today the Boy Scouts will be serving pancakes and sausage in the Fellowship Hall after each service.

First Sunday Cookout

After the 11:00 service we will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs. Come join us for lunch.

Ash Wednesday Service February 10th 7PM

Ash Wednesday begins the wilderness journey of Lent. Ashes have connotations of mourning and death dating to ancient times. Our service will include what is traditionally known as “the imposition of the ashes”, where worshippers receive the marking of a cross in ash on their forehead as a sign of repentance. We will also be celebrating Holy Communion.

Lenten Soup & Sandwich Suppers

Our annual soup suppers will be hosted again this year during the season of Lent. Starting on Ash Wednesday at 6pm. The LWML ladies will provide the soup. You are asked to bring sandwiches to share. In the weeks that follow, we will continue to host the soup suppers on Wednesday evenings at 6pm with devotions/Bible Studies beginning at 7pm (the last Wednesday will be 3/16/16). All are welcome to come. Bring your favorite sandwich to share.

Summer Mission Trip July 17-23, 2016

Every summer, youth high school students at Holy Cross travel up to the mountains of North Carolina to partner with a home repair mission organization called ReCreation Experiences. Students will engage in a multitude of jobs, from painting to roofing, minor construction to house cleaning. We do this for individuals who, for either financial or physical limitations (many times both), cannot have this work done themselves. It’s an awesome opportunity to serve with the love of Christ and also to grow closer with each other. Registration is $50. Contact Daniel Robison @ daniel(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)hclm.org for the registration form and any other questions.

A Big Thank You!

Angel Tree 2015 proved to be one the most successful gift distributions yet for The Salvation Army and that is undoubtedly due in part to wonderful donors such as our friends at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. The church donated over 50 brand new toys, bicycles and clothing items to disadvantaged children in need. Last year, The Salvation Army took on the endeavor of helping 3,700 disadvantaged children and with the help of the community, they succeeded. The many gifts that were donated to The Salvation Army were given out during the annual Angel Tree adoption toy distribution. Not a single child was forgotten. The Salvation Army thanks Holy Cross Lutheran Church for their participation and consideration of children in need.
