66' Gianetti SLR Sloop, 2008

S/Y SHOOTING STAR is a 66' Gianetti SLR performance sloop, built in 2008 that is a thrill to sail. She points well to windward, tacks easily, is responsive from the rudder, and the dual steering wheels enable the helmsman to have clear visibility of the trim of the sails. SHOOTING STAR is a racer! She is the perfect platform on which to learn to sail!
She is also comfortable on deck for eight guests plus two crew to lounge and enjoy the beauty of the sea and islands. Here is where the yacht's 66 feet comes in handy. There is ample seating in the extended cockpit, which runs all the way from the stern to the middle of the boat to accommodate large parties.... A bimini awning provides shade as needed. The teak table in the cockpit has leaves that open up to accommodate out of door dining or fold away when not in use. The yacht has cockpit speakers and onboard internet (for use in hot spots only, which may or may not include use at sea, depending on the location of antennas in the area.) Sunbathing is possible on the bow, which has flush teak decks, and fitted sunbathing cushions on the coach roof.
SHOOTING STAR is a fairly new yacht, launched in 2008. She is maintained like new, and her interior is warm and cottagy due to the hand-rubbed teak paneling through the yacht and soft lighting. The interior benefits from its minimalist design. The galley is streamlined; clutter is kept to a minimum. The saloon is the full width of the ship with lounge to port and dining table to starboard. The hallway at the foot of the companionway between the galley and chart table is wide to accommodate lots of people in open space.
Five guest cabins offer versatile beds to accommodate couples and/or singles. The full beam master cabin is forward, and it can be configured to either be one one cabin with centerline King bed with his and her bathrooms or as two cabins, each with double bed, hatch, and private bathroom with double beds. The two aft cabins are also convertible from twins to doubles through use of fillers.... Each has a private, ensuite bathroom. The fifth cabin is an upper and lower twin cabin amidships. The crew sleep forward of the master cabin with access over the bow.
Konstantinos and Theodora operate SHOOTING STAR. Konstantinos' nickname is Kostas. He is young, polite, well spoken, reserved in manner, and knowledgeable of the islands and sailing. Born in 1983, as a youngster, he took to Optimist sailing and then graduated to racing 420s and later went through the Panhellenic exams, specializing in sailing. He is licensed and fully qualified and tremendously likeable. The chef aboard is Theodora ("Dora,") who specializes in traditional Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, with highlight her spinach pie. She is friendly and pleasant and she makes you feel comfortable from the first time. Both Kostas and Theodora speak English fluently.
SHOOTING STAR tows a 10' inflatable dinghy with 15 hp outboard, which tows an inner tube, and she offers snorkeling, kayaking, floating mats, and fishing to guests. The boarding ladder/swim ladder is hydraulically operated off the stern. There is an outdoor shower, and watermaker, generator, ice maker, and inverter.
