Hi.  It's been a while since my last newsletter. I hope you are well and wish you and your loved ones the very best for 2016.
I've been having an amazing time in India with my family - and working hard on the new book "Transformative Health -
A 12-step guide to Super Nutrition" whilst also putting the finishing touches to my "Divine Desserts" book, both to be released later this year.

Being back at Tanshikar Organic Spice farm today reminded me of an important lesson.  If we farm only one crop (monoculture), we put the soil under pressure and if that crop fails we are in trouble.  Similarly, if we just eat a mono culture of food we become imbalanced. Variety is the key to life. It is one of the great gifts of Ayurvedic / Indian cooking that contained within foods such as curry, or yogic chai - we have a collection of spices that provide a powerhouse of goodness.
Here is one ingredient that tastes great and packs a nutritional punch:

Cumin
A major ingredient in curry powder, cumin has many medicinal benefits:
- It is very good for digestion and easing digestive problems.
- It stimulates the glands that secrete acid, bile and enzymes in the gut and acts as a natural laxative.
- Its antioxidant properties speed up healing in the body and it is anti-fungal and anti-microbial.
- An ideal anti-congestive, useful in treating coughs, asthma and bronchitis.

I am really excited to be coming back to the UK at the beginning of March and have some wonderful events coming up. Please note, pre-booking is essential!
With all the knowledge i have gained in India i am excited to share with you a day of Yogic and Ayurvedic foods. We will be learning about these ancient healing systems.  You'll learn your Ayurvedic dosha and we'll explore the best foods to increase flexibility, supercharge your practise and bring healing and rejuvenation to the body
and mind.  It will include sessions in asana and puja from my husband, Giles (whose been teaching yoga for 20 years) and of course, the most delicious, nutritious Indian food and drinks.

I'm really pleased to be offering another free event at The Natural Way, Braintree - truly one of the best health food stores in the country.  I'll be there on Wednesday 9th March at 12 noon for a wonderful talk I debuted in India -My Top 10 Nutritional Tips.  Come along early and bring your friends!
More people are realising the benefits of eating a proportion of your food raw due to its higher levels of nutrients and life-force.  I have learned to create some amazing raw dishes in my travels around the world.  They are simple to make, really delicious and you can guarantee you will learn how to get the very best nutrition for you and your family.  Here are details of my next Masterclass at the lovely Freedom Centre, not far from the M11, so really easy to get to from London and East Anglia.
Finally, with Easter coming up you might be thinking about chocolate eggs (or Jesus, or both!)  I like to make raw chocolate and as I've just picked up a few kg of the finest raw cacao I've ever tasted from Tanshikar Farm here in Goa - I'd love to show people how to make delicious and healthy chocolates for your loved ones.  Hope you can make the workshop - and if you miss this one, I am available to come to your home to run this or other workshops.  Contact me for details.
