Dear <<First Name>>,

Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable? Mark 4:13

Sometimes we don't get it. The Lord's thoughts are not our thoughts and the Lord's ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8). Yesterday, our good friend, pastor, and partner, Eric Van Rhee, went to be with the Lord. Eric was the first person to come to Christ at our church and he never looked back. With passion and intentionality, he strove to become fully alive in Christ. He planted the Adventure Church out of our church in 1998 and became one of the most influential Christian leaders in Utah. The Lord was recently using Eric to open up ministry throughout Asia. So why now? We don't get it...

The followers of Jesus often don't get it. Jesus speaks the parables of life and we miss the interpretation because only those with spiritual eyes and a heavenly perspective can understand it. The many "why's" in our lives are not answered from a natural perspective. They are only answered with Abba God at the center of the story.

Eric understood this. He knew his life was not His own. He sought to glorify Christ in every way. He learned well, loved well, and repented well. Whether he got it or not, He always sought to see from the Lord's perspective.

Let the parable of your life be understood by others. Let them know you are Abba's child and that your life and calling are dedicated to His eternal purpose. Nothing else really matters.
