Welcome to Slow Clay Centre's March newsletter.
We are almost at the end of our first term and have had a wonderful time with our new dedicated Intermediate-level courses. It's great to see our students developing, improving their techniques whilst also honing in on their particular areas of expression. Huge congratulations to our intern Grace Brown who has had her first commission from the National Gallery Victoria shop no less! Impressive! You can follow Grace on Instagram
@ohheygrace and don't forget to follow @slowclaycentre while you are there! We post images of student work, classes and events and have the occasional give away too!
NOTE: Weekly Slow Clay Wheel and Form & Surface courses open for new enrolments this Wednesday, 16 March, from noon onwards.
Read on for workshops, events and more!
“Often it is necessary to clarify a vague content by giving it visible form… Often the hands know how to solve a riddle with which the intellect has wrestled in vain.” Carl Jung

NB: Be quick: At the time of compiling we only have one place left!
The wonderful Sydney artist Petra Svoboda comes to Slow Clay again for a one-day workshop where you will learn some of the ways you can transfer hand-rendered or photographic images onto clay. Not only will you be armed with all the knowledge you need to successfully transfer images to clay, you will also receive a screen and your own squeegee to take home and continue to develop.

Petra is an award-winning ceramic artist and experienced teacher. She incorporates printing on clay in much of her own artwork and teaches at the College of Fine Art, Sydney.
