Vestry House Museum
Vestry Rd

£1 donation on the door, supporting Vestry House Museum

Travel back to the 1940s with a fabulous selection of local designer-makers, themed craft activities and a pop up tea shop serving seasonal local cakes from Crumbs Biscuits and Cakes. Be entertained by DJ Auntie Maureen playing her special collection of nostalgic sounds, all against the backdrop of the Museum’s atmospheric displays.

Come and see E17 Designers in their tenth year of making and selling in E17, in one of the venues they first used (and a favourite one), Vestry House Museum in Walthamstow Village.

E17 Designers will have a great selection of handmade gifts for sale. Buy decorative and functional ceramics from Useful Pots and Yanire Silva Delgado, amazing silver and gold jewellery from Flowerie88, Fused & Fired and Malcolm Morris (top sellers at the recent E17 Designers’ Christmas shop!), vintage inspired beaded trinkets from Suzy’s Beads and Twinkle London. Fancy something crafty that can be given as a gift or used every day? Try Fancy Em for cushions, Hilda Rocket for ‘Liberty’ print and felt accessories, Craftee Fox and Mika Bon Bon for printed textile bags and purses, Sue O’Hea for silk specialities and popular maker, Lovell, with her soy candles and soaps. Fashion lovers can buy new coats in bold block colours and easy to wear spring tops and dresses from designer-makers D4Discus and GLOW London, who both design clothes inspired by earlier eras, and use combinations of new and vintage fabrics.

Visit the pop up tea shop from Crumbs, serving dairy free Carrot & orange mini loaves, Coffee & date loaves, Chocolate brownies and more, and listen to our dear Auntie Maureen. Make time for activities from The Stow Roses (Walthamstow's Women’s Institute) who will be showing off their lovely handmade quilt and, for a donation, will be offering corsage making to those who stop by. Raffle tickets, to win the quilt, will be on sale, helping to raise money for the Whipps Cross neo-natal Unit.

It's our tenth year!

E17 Designers started as a small group of makers in 2006, and now have over 60 emerging, established and new makers exhibiting locally several times a year, including the Walthamstow Garden Party and a pop up Christmas shop in The Mall Shopping Centre, Walthamstow, in 2015. All the artists, designers and makers show a variety of passionately crafted, handmade items.
