"Brown-Chicken-Brown-Cow"

is what we say when we see two people in the midst of "getting it on," so to speak. There's something about the Valentine's Day month that keeps our focus on love . . . and lust. I revived an old blog I wrote on the topic and present the link here for your amusement.
Warning: You will discover WAY too much about me should you choose to read it.

I'll add the link to next month's letter. I'm really excited about the cover, which I had designed on a site called 99designs.com. Designers all over the world compete to design your cover and you pay a flat fee! You can let me know what you think next month!

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL LIBRARIES!

Here's a new resource for writers! Cindy Jewkes has an eagle eye for spotting errors in your writing. Don't trust yourself to edit your own work. Here's her info.
I recommend her highly:

And now, your prompts for the next 30ish days:

1.  Let's try a limerick!

"a humorous, frequently bawdy, verse of three long and two short lines rhyming aabba, popularized by Edward Lear."

From Leadville there once was a writer
Whose prose could take on the best fighter
But care was still needed
For if it weren't heeded
In the ass they could come back to bite her.

Okay, it's not the best example, but I'd be happy to discuss my inspiration for that "bawdy" poem!

Here's a site to get you started:
http://www.webexhibits.org/poetry/explore_famous_limerick_examples.html

2. Write for 15 minutes (or more) about your first kiss.

Try to remember every detail: smells, tastes, feelings, where you were, WHY you were.
Do it.

TIPS!

1.  Keep track of people you'll want to acknowledge throughout your writing process. Believe me! A year later, you won't remember the name of the doctor's assistant who gave you an idea for your work!

2.  Learn the limitations of word processing and other applications before you get too far into your work. It will save your hair.

3.  If your goal is to become known as an author, start--and keep working on--your author platform. This link provides a good explanation: https://janefriedman.com/author-platform-definition/

4.  S-T-R-E-T-C-H often, physically and mentally.
