Staff Changes

2016 has started well with many of your favourite Pilates instructors continuing help you reach your strength and conditioning goals and assist you with injury management and healing.

Unfortunately the new physio Jeremy took on a new full time role elsewhere, as part time at Evolution Pilates did not suit his financial situation. For the time being that may mean some Pilates session may be without a physio on the floor. This may effect your ability to claim some Pilates sessions through your private health fund. Most sessions will continue to have a physiotherapist present, however we cannot guarantee there will be a physio in the studio. We hope this will be a short term situation.

Lara Vilela will be returning to Brazil at the end of February to get married. We wish her all the best.

Pilates Principle ONE: BREATH

It's always good to go over basics and we hope to put some inspiring thoughts in each newsletter.
Joseph Pilates, our 'founder' talked about learning correct breathing, referring to it as the 'internal shower'. The breath is an integral part of overall body function. Full consistent inhalation and exhalation helps the circulatory system nourish all the tissues with oxygen rich blood, while carrying away impurities and metabolic waste (Pilates Method Assoc). The result is mental and physical rejuvenation. It enhances muscle relaxation as well as assisting muscle activation depending on your exercise.

SO as you've heard us say a million times: Remember to breath!
