CHRA’s Aboriginal Caucus 2015 in Winnipeg boasted a record number of participants (100), and proved to be remarkable blend of information sharing and inspiration. Specifically, it provided many Aboriginal examples of highly effective management and retention practices of existing housing stock, innovations in affordable home ownership and successes in leveraging real estate assets to create new housing and business enterprises. Housing Experts Meet to Translate Federal Policy Mandates into Outcomes
Co-organized by the CHRA, Carleton University, and the Tyee Solutions Society, the all-day Actions for Housing Now working session held on the Carleton campus brought together some 60 people from the around the broad housing sector as well as unions, criminal justice reformers, aboriginal interests, philanthropic foundations and those serving the most vulnerable.
