Love halow has taken over February!
The Love halow campaign is in full force! Young people and staff have jumped at the chance to show why they love halow. The Crafty Creations group from our A Reason to Get Up programme have been getting creative with a “Love Yourself” theme in their sessions and the Building Futures Group have got involved too as seen on our Facebook and Twitter.

Want to get involved with Love halow? The campaign runs to the end of February so there is still plenty of time to join our young people in celebrating halow’s services. Shout about us on Twitter, create your own #lovehalow sign or sell our lapel pins!

My halow story
"I joined halow in September as Finance Manager. I am so glad I did! My day-to-day work of paying bills, raising invoices, running the payroll is not just number-crunching – the young people are in and out, I hear all the victories small and large from them and from our impassioned staff delivering the services, and see so clearly the effect of halow’s work. This relatively young charity has plenty of room for development;  I am loving the opportunity to inform that."

February is Fantastic for the Building Futures Group
The Building Futures Group have had a very busy February! They have visited the Surrey History Centre, volunteered their gardening skills with the Growth Team, made pancakes and healthy smoothies, taken part in a low ropes course with Surrey Outdoor Learning and Development and had an app sharing session where young people shared useful apps for their phones. The young Peer to Peer mentors who support those on the programme have received lots of great feedback. One mentor has helped members of the group make huge progress in the weekly gym sessions, such as using a machine they would not have tried before- a great achievement!

We are recruiting for a Building Futures Manager!
We are looking to develop our Building Futures programme with the recruitment of a new Building Futures Manager. This is a key role responsible for overseeing the development of our flagship project which supports young people, through a community based learning programme, to think about the possibilities of an independent life. The Building Futures Manager will lead on the development and expansion of our popular programme and will ideally have experience in partnership-working, teaching, marketing, person centered planning and working with people with a learning disability.
