JOBS WITH THE FUND
The Fund for the Public Interest is a national non-profit organization that works to build support for progressive organizations across the country. We've run campaigns for USPIRG, Environment America, the Human Rights Campaign, the Sierra Club, Greenpeace, and Fair Share Alliance. Here in Boston, we are currently working with MassPIRG on a campaign to stop the overuse of antibiotics on factory farms.
The overuse of antibiotics is creating “super bugs” that can cause illnesses that can’t be cured. Yet, 70% of antibiotics sold in the U.S. are given to livestock, often to animals that aren’t even sick. This increases the risk that antibiotics will not work the next time you or I get sick. To make sure that doesn’t happen, we need the restaurants that buy from factory farms to call for change. This past year we convinced McDonalds and Subway to announce plans to stop serving meats raised on antibiotics. Their decisions are putting major market pressure on meat producers. So we need to continue to pressure other large fast food chains like Wendy’s and KFC to follow suit and stand up for public health! We're hiring for a number of different positions including leadership and career opportunities. Primarily we are looking for campaign outreach staff, and the pay is roughly $10-15/hour. Full time and part time positions are available. To apply and help make change today, please click on the following link: http://fundforthepublicinterest.org/apply.html?lcl=BOST
