Attend the Tri-State Procurement and Economic Development Summit
By Beth White via CIRAS
This first of its kind event in Southeast Iowa sprung out of conversations between various resource and economic development partners in the tristate (NE Missouri, NW Illinois and SE Iowa) region. CIRAS at Iowa State University is one of the main sponsors of the event, adding that there are very few educational and networking type events centered in this region, so we wanted to help increase exposure of business resources to the business community in this geographical area as well as expose the companies to each other. Cooperation amongst various organizations in this tristate area is becoming more and more common so we want to also capitalize on those partnerships, and keep growing them in different areas.
IDEAS FOR SUCCESS
NAWBO "Up Your Game" Summit Scheduled for April
By Kristine Creighton via NAWBO
There is a movement growing in Iowa. One of collaboration, connection, influence, difference, mentoring, purpose and legacy. A movement where women business owners are coming together across the state in many ways and many places to empower and promote growth in our businesses, others and ourselves.

NAWBO Iowa cordially invites all women business owners, entrepreneurs, partners and influencers to participate in the Women Mean Business “Up Your Game” Annual Summit on April 7th at Prairie Meadows Conference Center in Altoona. It is here we collaborate as a united, diverse and energized audience to challenge, inspire and support each other in this mission.

Are Your Employee Classifications and Pay Policies Up to Date?
By Bobbi Vandegrift via HRConnect
With a new year comes the opportunity to re-evaluate and re-educate yourself on human resource compliance changes. Lapses in compliance efforts are often not discovered until there’s a problem or a lawsuit is filed. Proactively managing your policies and procedures can help you avoid these scenarios.

Iowa Redevelopment Tax Credit Program
By Matt Rasmussen via IEDA
Did you know that state and federal tax incentives exist that can make the purchase and redevelopment of undervalued or environmentally challenged sites a good economic opportunity for a business?

One of my primary duties at the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) is the administration of the Redevelopment Tax Credit Program. The program is designed to provide financial assistance to the redevelopment of “brownfield” and “grayfield” sites in Iowa.
