We are pleased to remind you of our upcoming concert, Pipe Dreams, which will be performed on Saturday February 20th at 7:30pm. This is our first concert in Etobicoke, and we have been working on a programme fit for a majestic space: the concert will take place at Islington United Church, at Dundas St. W. and Burnhamthorpe Rd.
The acoustics in the church are astounding, and our compliment of 75 musicians will deliver a programme of classical works, hymns, and a work by our audience favourite, Eric Whitacre featuring one of our own on classical guitar. The special guest artist will be organist Dr. John Derksen, who will perform several solo works, as well as an Camille Saint-Saens' Organ Concerto with our band, and a piece featuring organ, band, and an offstage brass choir.
We invite you to join us in this wonderful venue for this special concert in the community. Tickets are available online here, or can be purchased at the door.
In June, we return to the Glenn Gould Studio for our Spring Concert, wrapping up a successful 2nd season.
Please join me and all of our band on February 20th and again on June the 11th.
Sincerely,
Matt Glandfield
President
