Dear Friends,
It is hard to imagine needing to be thinking about your winter garden as you are harvesting tomatoes, cucumbers and courgettes by the dozen! Now is the time to plant your seeds to insure you will have veggies this winter too. Check out the What to Plant section below.
We have a workshop coming up! We are excited to announce February 28th 2016, we are partnering for the second time with Julia of Julia’s Edible Weeds and Pauline from Farmhouse Kitchen for a day of weeds and seeds! Julia will come down from Tauranga to teach an Autumn Edible Weed workshop in the morning, Pauline will be preparing an amazing lunch and then Setha and Roddy will finish off the day with practical hands on tips on seed harvesting, processing and storing in your home garden. There will be plenty of demonstrations for both sessions. For more Information and to Register follow link, secure you place today, as space is limited.
Things to Sow in the Garden Now:
February is the month to sow all your winter veggie seeds. Time to plant your leeks, brassicas, carrots and beetroot. Make sure you have prepared a fertile growing patch with plenty of compost or aged manure.
We are sowing Broccoli Little Marvel, Silverbeet, Spinach Bloomsdale, Carrots White Belgium and Oxheart, Beetroot, Leek Lyon, Kale Cavolo Nero or Red Russian, Lettuces, Red Mustard, Rocket, Tat Soi, Arugula Wild, Mizuna, Mibuna and more. Tree and Speckled lettuces are our most hardy for winter. Our Land Cress is also a great winter green.
Winter flowers are important in the garden too, so don't forget to add Lupins Blue, Calendula Orange or Mix, Sweet Pea Marys, and Poppy Tyneside.
Choose the format that you can write in and email it to us at:

And a reminder that our seeds are also available from Cornucopia Organics in Hastings and Waipawa Wholefoods in Waipawa.
Happy gardening,
Roddy and Setha
