Glasgow University: Day 4
Friday morning dawns crisp and clear. We were greeted by a frost covering the cars and the trees. The rising sun brought pink tinges to the sky. It's going to be a great day.

Yesterday saw the momentum gathered earlier in the week continue unabated. Both lunch talks were well attended. Suzy Russell (YWAM Maui alum) gave a great talk on 'Does Christianity ruin my fun?'

I met Slav from Riga, Latvia (where I worked before) at lunch who told me some of his life. He's now meeting up with a student from the CU to go through John's gospel together. Stories like this are happening across all the events.
Last night I spoke on 'Uncovering Truth', from the verse in John's gospel: "I am the way, and the truth, and the life" (John 14:6). Of all places to speak on truth we had perhaps the most fitting location - the Debate Chamber. Walking in to the chamber the university motto beamed at us from the wall: 'Via - Veritas - Vita'. The way, the truth, the life.

Prayer Points

  • Today (Friday) is our last day. The Americans like to talk of 'leaving it all on the field'. That's we want. To give it all until the end.
  • The lunch talk topics are 'Hasn't science disproved Christianity?' and 'Why doesn't God make himself more obvious?'
  • Some will have heard once, twice or more the message of Jesus this week and have yet to make a commitment. Tonight, as I talk on love, pray that this is their moment.
Thank you - as ever - for your prayers and for your support.

Onwards and Upwards,

Jonathan
