The Road to Bethlehem – selected for Dubai International Film Festival
 
We are delighted that Leila Sansour’s feature documentary film The Road to Bethlehem has been selected for the prestigious Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) and will be screened on 16th December, 6pm and 18th December 10pm.   Additionally, the film has received an award from the Dubai Entertainment and Media Organisation, which is now a co-producer on the film.
 
All this combined is great news for the film and we send our very deep thanks to everyone who has helped get the film this far.

The Road to Bethlehem documents Leila Sansour's return to her hometown of Bethlehem. The film is shot over five years as she battled with local bureaucracy and documented the effect of the Israeli-imposed barrier upon the local population - the various physical and psychological effects of the wall become apparent in dynamic detail. Ultimately, this moving and insightful documentary emerges as a lovingly-crafted paean to Sansour's hometown and all that it represents. Accompanying the film’s release in 2011, there will be a 3-5 year outreach campaign Open Bethlehem, which will be an international public awareness effort and linked to advocacy on key issues affecting Bethlehem specifically and Palestine more widely, focused on decision-makers in Europe and USA primarily.
