End of year Party on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Memorial Elementary School

WELCOME TO OUR NEW DIRECTOR!

We had the great pleasure to welcome on February 15th Madam Valérie Thomas-Collignon as our new Executive Director.
A French national, Valérie holds a PhD in Microbial Ecology. Since 2004 she served as a researcher based in five laboratories in France, England and Texas, and taught her disciplinary in university for four years.
Since 2008, Valérie is actively involved in promoting the French language in Houston, first as a member and then to the presidency of Et Voilà Theatre from 2010 to 2013 and again since April 2015.
Valérie and her husband Guillaume are proud parents of two boys, Martin 5, and Julien 8 months old.

"Coming from a family where French and Italian were spoken, bilinguism always seemed something natural. It is only after my first son was born that I fully realized the advantage of learning languages at a young age. I believe that EFGH is a real asset in Houston, not only for native French-speakers but also for families who want their children to discover other languages and cultures. At EFGH, from the teaching and pedagogical team to the administrative team, everyone is truly committed to their mission and to the children. I want to thank them all for taking me on board! Looking forward to meeting EFGH parents and students. A bientôt!"

THE NEW FRENCH SPELLING

The recent announcement of the entry into application of the new spelling proposed by the French Academy in 1990 caused a stir. Yet this is not the first time that the rules governing the French spelling change.
