CELEBRATING 40 YEARS: 1976 - 2016

Welcome to the first edition of Blues News for 2016 - our monthly newsletter updating you on everything happening at the Willetton Football Club.

Pre-season training has been underway for over a month now at Centenary Park in Wilson, which will be our training base until the cricket season finishes up at Burrendah Park next month. Numbers have generally been very good, but if you've been putting off coming down, we advise you to start dusting off the boots ASAP as scratch matches are just around the corner and the season starts in 6 weeks! On the back of two premierships in 2015 (Reserves and Colts), we are again looking forward to big things in 2016.

From the President
2016 marks a significant milestone in our Club's history, as we celebrate our 40th anniversary. Our Club has evolved significantly over those 40 years, with changes to our home ground and jumper, moving from the umbrella of the Willetton Sports Club to become an entity in our own right, and competing across a number of different suburban competitions. There are also hundreds of players, coaches, administrators, sponsors and members who have left their indelible mark on the pages of our Club's history. To commemorate, we have a number of different initiatives that will be unveiled as the season goes on. This will culminate at the End of Season/40th Anniversary Ball to be held on the 17th of September - so lock that date away in your diary now.

While we try not to inundate you with emails, in the next couple of days you will receive an email questionnaire that is designed to help us as a Club Committee to continue to build a strong and successful Club culture. We would appreciate it if all players and members could take the couple of minutes to fill it out.

I look forward to seeing you all during the season!

Coaches
League Coach - Kyle Martin

Kyle returns for his second season as player-coach and will be looking to build on the 8 wins and 7th placed finish last year. He is our reining League Best and Fairest winner, and will again be leading the side on and off the field, ably assisted on the sidelines by Chris Pobjoy and Paul Kujawski.
Reserves Coach - Nathan Cocks

Five years after his last senior coaching position, Nathan takes over from 2015 Premiership Coach
Jason Walker to lead the Reserves in 2016.
With his own playing career cruelly curtailed by injury, Nathan brings plenty of experience and enthusiasm to the role.
Colts Coach - Paul Kujawski

Paul is chasing his fourth Club premiership as coach, to add to his 1999 and 2000 League and 2015 Colts triumphs. His extensive coaching experience across all grades and age groups, and his history as a past Club captain and Best and Fairest winner, makes Paul an incredible asset to have back involved with the Club.
Thirds Coach - Raymond Reveley

After a tough season in 2015, Ray has again put his hand up to lead the Thirds this year. With two encouraging wins towards the end of last season, Ray will be hoping to build towards a strong showing in 2016.
