Puppy & Family Dog Class
Begins Monday, March 7th - Thursday, March 24th.
We will meet twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays for a total of 6 classes.

AKC CGC Class
Begins Tuesday, March 15th - Tuesday, April 19th. We will meet once weekly on Tuesdays for a total of 6 classes (the last 3 classes will be opportunity to do the CGC tests). SCROLL DOWN FURTHER FOR MORE INFORMATION.

S.T.A.R. PUPPY CLASS
Puppy Socialization and Training
Class Time: 5:30 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.
Class Description: This class is for puppies (12 weeks through 5 months). This class will teach your puppy basic manners, build his/her confidence and establish the bond that will make your pup a joy to own.
Lessons Include: Sit, down, come, leash manners, greeting politely, watch me, stand, leave it, off, wait, and common puppy issues. Puppy Play Time is included to teach your puppy social manners.
ALL puppies attending all 6 classes will be eligible to receive a medal and a completion certificate for completing the AKC S.T.A.R. (Socialization, Training, Activity, Responsible) Puppy Program. Puppies do NOT need to be AKC registered in order to participate.
FAMILY DOG CLASS
Beginning Obedience & Manners for the Family Dog
Class Time: 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Class Description: For dogs 5 months old through senior dogs, join us in our Family Dog Training class. This class is a basic beginning obedience and manners class for the "family" dog.
Teach the skills and manners that will make your dog a joy to own.
This is an ideal class for your rescue dog, adolescent or older dog needing to improve his/her basic manners and behavior.
Lessons include: how to resolve common issues like jumping up, pulling on leash, and over excitement towards other dogs and people. Also included will be basic manners like: sit, down, come, watch me, stand, heel, leave it, wait and stay.

Intermediate & AKC Canine Good Citizen Classes:
Details: Classes meet for approximately 1 hour, once a week, on Tuesdays, for six weeks (a total of 6 sessions). (Class #4 will include taking the AKC Canine Good Citizen test; Class #5 will include taking the AKC CGC Advanced test, with a field trip for the test. Class #6 will include taking the AKC CGC Urban test, with a field trip for the test.)
This class is intended for dogs continuing on from a beginning obedience/manners class. Goals will include but not limited to: Preparation for passing the Therapy Dog Test; AKC CGC tests; Advanced CGC test; Urban CGC test. Stand/Stay for Exam; 1 minute sit/stay; 3 minute down/stay; Loose leash walking; heeling with automatic sits; and extra "fun tricks" & "maneuvers"; Off leash recalls; And as always some surprises, fun & games!
Class Prerequisites: Classes are for any dog over 1 year old and It is ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED that you have had a beginning basic obedience/manners class or lessons with Cari Bowe, Kathy Dunn, Carla Jackson or Cheryl McMillan or meet with Kathy to determine if this is the right class for your dog. Your dog must be well socialized and able to be in a room with other dogs without being stressed. All dogs should be able to do the basic obedience skills: sit, down, come, wait, brief stay, & walk/heel with a loose leash.
