So What Does This Mean for University of Iowa Students?
The good news is that there are a lot of resources to support using positive psychology in your daily life (apps, gratitude journals, and more). If you come to the Counseling Center (UCS), our staff can help you find ways to lead a richer, more meaningful life. We can help you use what is important to you to help guide your decision making and live life in line with your values. Positive psychology can help you be more open to what brings you joy, even in the presence of pain.
Group Therapy can be especially helpful as it allows for in-depth exploration and discussion of how to be open to moments of sweetness, even when we are struggling. Hearing others’ stories and being part of their personal growth can be very powerful!
