VIVA 14 November 4-7 Wynn Las Vegas

Dear eVIVA readers,

I’ve returned from the VIVA Physicians Board of Directors meeting, where the discussion focused on how to continue providing the best educational experience in the field of Vascular Medicine and Intervention. First, I'm delighted to share that The VEINS meeting will be back in Las Vegas to help us kick off VIVA 16. Next, we are well underway with planning for VIVA 16 with even more world-renowned faculty, live cases and late-breaking trials than ever before.

Based on attendee and faculty feedback, we will be offering:
  • An Opportunity for U.S. physicians-in-training to participate in the VIVA Face-Off Competition and receive FREE registration to the VIVA Fellows Program
  • Increased Live Case interaction with physicians from all over the world
  • Extended Hands-On sessions with more topics to include Atherectomy, Thrombectory, Strokes and Filters
  • Exhibit opportunities available for The VEINS and VIVA Focus sessions (CLI and Aortic Armageddon) on Saturday and Sunday
  • International Physicians the opportunity to attend VIVA 16 online, using their own device, through Virtual VIVA and More!

VIVA Spotlight: Insights from the VIVA SFA Nitinol Stent Patient Level Meta-Analysis

Much more than a meeting, VIVA Physicians promotes research that encourages collaboration and ultimately delivers data to inform optimal patient care. At VIVA 15, Krishna Rocha-Singh, MD, reported on the impact of the performance goal established by VIVA Physicians in 2007 that has become the standard by which all subsequent nitinol stents placed in the SFA are assessed. Endorsed by the FDA and welcomed by industry, the “VIVA comparator” has provided six adjudicated patient-level data sets totaling 999 claudicants.

Watch as Dr. Rocha-Singh presents emerging insights from the SFA Nitinol Stent Patient Level Meta-Analysis, reviews the impact of this VIVA Physicians research initiative and announces the launch of the REALITY study.
