On a rainy Wednesday night last week, the World Spice Cookbook Club turned out for our March Meet & Eat. Our exploration of Zahav had the shop packed to the brim with hungry enthusiasts and dozens of dishes from the book. Here are some highlights from the event, and a sneak peek of what's in store for next time!

Here's a recipe from Mastering Sauces that has us excited. This spiced coconut oil invigorates dishes with a burst of infused South Asian flavor. The cauliflower steaks suggested by the book are great!
"In South India... Many dishes are garnished with a drizzle of coconut oil, popped black mustard seeds, crispy fried curry leaves, and frizzled small red onions. I like to stir these wonderful ingredients together like a compound butter and spread or melt it on various foods as the whim strikes...."
